Awards Overview
Mission
The mission of the WAVE Awards is to recognize outstanding service providers in the Kent County hospitality industry. This first annual awards program is a partnership between the Grand Rapids/Kent County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Kent County Lodging Association.
Nomination Process
Service providers who have worked for a minimum of two years in a customer service position are eligible to be nominated. Nominees must spend the majority of their time on the job interacting with customers. One award will be presented in each of the following categories:
- Dining
- Lodging
- Nightlife
- Transportation
- Retail
- Arts & Entertainment
Nominations will be accepted from both employers and guests from March 1 – September 2, 2008. A maximum of three individuals may be nominated from each business. Nomination forms may be submitted online or printed and sent in.
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and recognized at the First Annual WAVE Awards Ceremony on November 21, 2008. Employers, nominees and guests are all encouraged to attend this inaugural event.
